Teen Therapy
I provide a balance of validation and practical tools to help them manage intense emotions and navigate the social pressures of today’s world. Most teens show up to therapy because a caring adult in their life recommended it, but my goal is to make sure they actually want to be here. I focus on building a real, authentic relationship where they’re seen as a person, providing a space to vent about the unique frustration of being stuck between childhood and adulthood. While we can dive into practical DBT skills to help manage the heavier topics, sometimes our work is about validating how tough it is to navigate their own world while still living under someone else’s rules. It’s a compassionate, down-to-earth partnership designed to help them feel accepted as they are while figuring out who they’re becoming or want to be.
